I had my interview yesterday, but there was no video recording, no ID verification, and I wasn’t even asked to provide my LINE ID. It really feels like I was clearly rejected.

I don’t like rejecting someone the instant you meet them, since that means judging them solely on appearance. But because many supporters decide whether to make an offer based almost entirely on photos, some staff end up handling interviews that way. When I was still junior myself, there were times when a woman would walk in, and just as I was about to start the interview, a senior colleague would hand me a special rejection form with hardly any fields to fill out. I’d think, “Huh? Huh? I thought she could go with the standard option…” But because the woman was right there, I couldn’t say anything. Then, after interviewing her, I’d realize she had a great personality and want to accept her—but the form had so few fields that it was practically impossible to process her acceptance. It was really frustrating. That said, I do find it a little strange that they didn’t even check your ID or ask for your LINE ID. You weren’t tricked and taken somewhere other than Universe, were you?

I applied for membership as a man, and in general, I’ve found Universe’s staff to be kind and courteous. Could it have been an interview at a different dating club? Or perhaps a part-time employee in charge of cleaning or answering the phones butted in and conducted the interview instead of the staff who normally deal with women applying for membership（笑）.

I’m Paper Airplane, a male member. I’ve interviewed many therapists for men’s esthetic salons, but it takes less than three seconds to decide whether to hire someone—usually not even a full second. The moment we meet, those I’m going to hire are guided left toward the city hotel café, while those I’m passing on are guided right toward Komeda Coffee… If there’s a chance of receiving an offer, or of getting a booking, even the slightest possibility, I imagine we’re all of the same mind about hiring her. I don’t know whether the person asking was accepted or rejected, but if it was the latter, I imagine the staff member’s time must have felt incredibly long.
