I’m a male member, and I have a question about a woman who has come to see me from far away several times. I’m planning to visit her area next, but we haven’t discussed it yet. Should I leave everything—such as the hotel and restaurant—to her, or should I research and make the reservations myself? (Are there places that might be difficult for her to go to because it’s her hometown?) I’d appreciate answers from anyone who has gone on a date in a distant location.

Local hotels are the kind of thing you think you know about, but often don’t. Even when you ask for recommendations, the response is frequently less than enthusiastic.

That’s why, even when we’re meeting somewhere out of town, I usually make the reservation myself. Just be sure to ask in advance about any places they don’t want to use.
