If it were the woman, her rating might go down, and if she canceled on the day, she could even be forced to leave the club. You might feel that this difference is rather unfair, but for now, that’s simply how things are.
Since the man pays the setting fee, it’s somewhat unavoidable to a certain extent. Still, I do think there should be a penalty for same-day cancellations. I imagine some other dating clubs charge cancellation fees as well.
Even hotels and travel bookings have cancellation fees, so it might make sense to introduce a system such as a 50% penalty for cancellations one week in advance and 100% for cancellations three days before or on the day itself.
It also seems reasonable to give the woman around 5,000 yen in such cases, since transportation costs when meeting are usually around 5,000–10,000 yen.
That said, some generous men will set the next date right away, making it more of a postponement than a cancellation, and may even give her the allowance for the canceled date when they meet next, saying something like, “This is for last time,” despite not having met then.
When you think about it, even if a man genuinely has to cancel because of work, a kind man may still show proper consideration for the other person.
The question is how many men are actually that considerate.
