When we’re together,
I find myself wishing time would stop just like this.
When we’re apart,
I ache to see him again soon.
When we’re kissing,
I wish he would kiss me even more.
When I’m standing before him with nothing on,
I feel embarrassed that he’s seeing me like that.
Is that the kind of feeling you mean?

Thanks for your question.
If you’re already in an adult relationship (intimate), then I would think that, at those times, you’re more like a couple than just friends.
Are you only seeing each other for dinner? Or is it that you dislike the way your everyday conversations feel more like those between friends?
As long as you’re still in an adult relationship (intimate), I feel like things should be okay.

> Once you get close, the relationship inevitably starts to feel more like a friendship...
I think that’s perfectly natural. Age differences don’t matter in love, but the idea of an older man and a daughter-like girl being romantic partners does feel a little awkward(笑)
Personally, I think it’s perfectly fine to be friends. As long as you maintain a certain level of boundaries while treating each other like friends, I don’t think either of you will feel uncomfortable. In fact, that may feel more natural and help you get to know each other better...
> What’s important for maintaining a relationship that feels like you’re lovers, no matter how much time passes?
I think it’s showing a little consideration—in both your words and actions—for someone who’s important to you. When you feel that someone is treating you that way, you naturally start doing the same for them.

I think it’s important not to forget that this is a relationship where an allowance is being given and received.
