What kind of appearance do people mean when they say a woman has a Black-class look, even at the Gold level?

Maezawa from the CEO’s Office will answer as well. Thank you for your question. I believe it means exactly what it says: women who are so appealing that men will still make offers even if they’re registered as Black have become the standard. You might assume there must be some issue with them, but this can happen even when there’s nothing wrong at all—for example, when the staff member conducting the interview isn’t yet used to assigning classes, or when the woman’s appearance is far from what that staff member considers Black-class, even though their judgment is simply off and most men would think she belongs in Black. That said, it’s rare for someone to reach Standard. Apparently, they usually blend in with Gold, so even Black-class men sometimes end up checking out the Gold women too. “I’m not interested in looks. You can always get plastic surgery and change them however you want.” (BJ)

I’m Paper Airplane, a male member. If I were classifying men into tiers, I’d put Osamu Mukai, Tori Matsuzaka, and Yutaka Takenouchi at Black or above. But I might rank Takeru Satoh as Gold, simply because he’s my personal type… For women, I might put women who aren’t my type—Ayame Goriki, Anne, and Aya Ueto—in the Gold tier…

I’m Marika, a female member. Despite having Black-level looks, is there some reason she can’t even qualify for Platinum?

I’m Column Writer Flagmaker. I read through the question several times and thought about it, but I still couldn’t figure out what it meant. If she has Black-class looks, I’d think she would be Black. So is she Gold because the staff are being considerate and want to increase her offers, or because she has a difficult personality or some other generally unpopular trait?

I’m Kazu, a male member. The other day, a Standard woman I made an offer to personally looked Platinum-class to me. Sometimes I meet a Black woman and think, “No way—she must be Gold-class.” I think this is simply a gap between the staff member’s assessment and an individual member’s preferences. When staff conduct interviews, I assume they assign classes based as much as possible on the average preferences of male members. Black women are often described as having something extra, such as an aura, but speaking personally, only about one in three Black women I’ve met gave me that “I see, she really does have an aura” impression. Apparently, classes are determined by whether a woman receives offers. If we assume offers are based on appearance, then women are classified according to the average preferences of male members, right? Universe is a for-profit company, so that seems only natural. Therefore, saying that a “Gold woman has Black-class looks” is simply one individual’s opinion: “I liked her appearance enough that I would have made an offer even if she had been Black-class.” Adding this after reading Mac’s answer: Recently, on first dates with women, I’m often asked what the other women I’m still seeing look like. I find it very strange that people assume appearance determines whether a relationship continues, but there do seem to be quite a lot of people who assume that appearance is what men want from women. What I look for in someone I’m seeing is either being able to have enjoyable conversations—including over LINE—or being good in bed. Whenever I explain this in response to questions about “what the other women I’m still seeing look like,” they always seem oddly convinced. Having truly enjoyable conversations is difficult, and perceptive women will ask, “What kind of adult relationship are you looking for?” So lately, things have progressed smoothly into discussions about an adult relationship, which has been a relief. Adding this after reading Marika’s answer: Ah, I see! So it was written in the club’s comments on the woman’s profile. I think contacting the branch directly would be best, but as Marika said, there may be some issue unrelated to her appearance.
