I’m an A-type female member. After one of our dinner dates, he seemed annoyed and asked, “Are we going to stay like this forever?” Since I’m A-type, I thought I wasn’t doing anything wrong, but I’m worried he might complain to the club. If he pressures me for a physical relationship next time, I’m thinking of ending things. Am I misunderstanding what an A-type arrangement is supposed to mean…?

I’m Karasaki, a staff member at Universe Club Tokyo, and I’d like to answer as well. Even if we received a complaint that a Type A woman was unwilling to pursue an adult relationship (intimate), we would simply explain the club’s rules again and leave it at that, since the relationship types are explained during the interview. Receiving a complaint does not automatically lower her rating. As long as she is honest during the interview and clearly explains how she wants to go about her activities, there is absolutely no problem.

I’m a lost man in my 60s. I occasionally make offers to Type A women. The woman I’m currently seeing has already left the club, so she was formerly Type A. We’ve been seeing each other for about a year and a half, but I’ve never once sought anything beyond that relationship, and I still haven’t even touched her… lol Her first intimate experience was with the boyfriend she started dating after we began seeing each other, but I don’t mind at all. If anything, I’m glad it worked out that way. I’m a papa (a male supporter) with her boyfriend’s approval, after all… Of course, if she ever wanted more from me, I’d accept… lol That’s how I feel about a Type A woman. If she were Type C, I wouldn’t be so disrespectful… lol So if a man makes an offer to a Type A woman while saying things like that, say goodbye and move on!

I’m Maezawa from the CEO’s office, and I’ll answer this one too. Thanks for your question. Your understanding of a Type A arrangement—as being dinner only—is correct. > “Are we going to stay in this kind of relationship forever?” If he hadn’t gotten irritated, there’s a chance he may have been planning to gradually pursue you. I understand that a relationship where you just have dinner together and he doesn’t make advances can feel comfortable, but not everyone out there is like that. Think of this as a chance to learn through experience how to sidestep these situations smoothly. You could experiment and see what works. For example, you could say something like: “I’d love to have Cartier’s Mystery Clock Model A... If there were someone who would give me a gift like that, I might even consider seeing him beyond dinner.” Something along those lines(笑).

I’m Kazu, a male member. I think your understanding is correct. Even if he files a complaint, the club will probably just see him as a problematic male member for complaining about something like that, so I don’t think it will put you at any disadvantage. > Maezawa-san > Mystery clock lolllll

I’m in Seattle. You’re not wrong. He must be some stupid old guy who doesn’t understand Japanese. A Mystery Clock costs 10 million yen? What kind of watch is that? I’ve been using a 3,900-yen watch for 10 years. I only use it at the movie theater.
