I’m not a scholar, so I can’t say for sure, but I think compatibility may mean that when you find someone’s scent pleasant, they also find your scent pleasant. If the attraction to the scent is one-sided, perhaps you’re not a good match.

So either they don’t mind your scent, can tolerate it, or perhaps they actually think you smell really good. There’s no way to know for sure how the other person feels, so for now, it’s probably enough to take care of the things you can—like the smell of sweat. If they’re willing to be around you, that means you don’t smell so bad that they can’t stand being with you. I looked it up online, and apparently being attracted to someone’s natural scent can indicate genetic compatibility. So there’s a good chance they feel the same way about you.
