Assuming the questioner is a woman, I’m not sure what level of “trust” she’s referring to. But if we look at it from a papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) perspective—where it means an ongoing relationship and an allowance—then isn’t “trust” ultimately pretty difficult to establish?
I feel like people tend to choose relationships based on whether they’re necessary for their current lifestyle. So if their lifestyle or values change, you may suddenly become much less of a priority.
I’m usually the one who ends up on the receiving end of that, so even if I’m near the top of someone’s rankings for a while, I often find myself dropping to the bottom before I know it ^^;

Thanks for your question.
Another one-line question, huh… ><
Since I just wrote about this earlier, I guess this is understandable to some extent.
I think trust is normally something that can’t be built overnight.
Rather than focusing on what to look for, think about how to earn their trust. It’s something you build over time.

I think it’s a good idea to look at whether you share the same interests and whether the other person is sensible.
When your interests align, there’s less reason to betray each other. And if the person is sensible, they’re more likely to have self-control and think long-term, making it less likely that they’ll lose sight of the bigger picture and act impulsively out of immediate desire.
