I'm a male member. If I'd like to arrange a meeting about an hour away by bullet train from where the woman lives, is it okay to make an offer right away? Would it be better to ask the branch in advance? Also, what do female members think about receiving an offer for that kind of distance? I know it depends on the person, but I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts for reference.

Maezawa from the CEO’s Office here. Thanks for your question. If the location is about an hour away, I think it’s fine to make an offer right away. However, please be considerate by covering the round-trip bullet train fare and setting the meeting time with the last train in mind. The staff will generally explain these details, but before they do, you could write something like this in the notes section of your offer: “We’ll cover all actual expenses, including the round-trip bullet train fare.” That will probably make you come across as someone who knows what they’re doing.

I’m Kazu, a male member. I think it’s perfectly fine to make an offer right away. Once you do, the staff will check with the woman for you. If you want the staff to act without hesitation, I think you should make an offer first to show that you’re serious, rather than simply asking about it. It’s the same as paying the allowance upfront.

I’m Marika, a female member. If you’re making an offer right away, you could explain that it would take the woman an hour by bullet train and ask whether that would be okay. You should also discuss her return time, whether an overnight stay would be necessary, and whether there would be an additional allowance if she stayed overnight—even if she didn’t stay with you. If she agrees to those terms, she would probably accept the offer. As for what I think about it, there was a similar question a little while ago, so please search for it.
