This is a follow-up about Don Juan of Kishu. I was deeply shocked by the wording, “We would never simply hand over all member data.” If the police make a strong request, could they hand over “all member data,” including information on members other than Don Juan or the female suspect? I feel this is a very serious issue affecting the very foundation of the club.

Kida here to answer. You’re asking how our club handles members’ personal data, correct? That’s an excellent question. We’d like both our current members and those considering joining to understand our security policy. Here’s the previous question and answer: https://universe-club.jp/help/questions/view/44 “Even if a murder suspect were among the club’s members, we would not simply hand over all member data.” Let me explain this in more detail. If the police made a strong request, would we hand over “all member data” except that of Mr. Don Juan or the female suspect? → Mr. Don Juan has no connection to our club, so naturally we have no reason to submit any data. We would refuse. Suppose a member were murdered during a date for financial gain, or members began dying one after another for unknown reasons. In such cases, we would cooperate with the investigation to the fullest extent possible. We could not continue operating under circumstances where the killer might be among our members, so we would temporarily suspend business and devote ourselves to finding the perpetrator. However, that is separate from providing data. Even if the request came from the police or a court, we would first confirm exactly why the data was needed and how it would be used, and obtain that request in writing before providing anything. That is also why we pay our legal advisor a monthly retainer. Even if Mr. Don Juan had met his wife through an introduction from Universe Club, we would have no obligation to disclose information about our other members. If such a request were made, we would consult our attorney and look for a way to reject the disclosure request.
