The rankings from Standard to Black were originally class names borrowed from American Express cards. It was a typical class system where fees varied according to the quality of the concierge service. The biggest mistake of the 20th century was applying those same class names to women. Women should have been grouped by class, not ranked. I mean “class” as in a school class. My children belong to the Rhinoceros Beetle class, the Dragonfly class, and the Ladybug class. In the same way, the women should have been assigned names like the Flower Class or the Snow Class, taking inspiration from the Takarazuka Revue. Grouping women into classes does serve a purpose when it comes to distributing offers and optimizing the revenue structure, but aren’t dating clubs and paid-drinking arrangements about the only places that sell women as four different product packages? It’s not a good thing. Introducing the idea of being “higher” or “lower” isn’t good. When it comes to matching, it’s simply a matter of whether you’re compatible or not. Creating a situation where men compete to win over beautiful women isn’t good either. The question is whether a gentlemen’s club is really about showering beautiful women with money and generous allowances, but… Wait, what was your question again? If you receive a lot of offers, your rank might go up. But if your rank goes up, the number of offers might decrease.

My name is Kurosaki, and I’m the chief at the Osaka branch of Universe Club. The lowest class is called Standard. Although women in this class make up around 30% of all registered women, they account for only about 5–10% of actual dates overall. (In other words, out of 100 dates, only 5–10 would be with Standard women.) Do you understand what that means? From a woman’s perspective, Standard is actually the most difficult class to be in. As usual, I’ve gotten off track, so let me get back to the main point. Basically, women are placed into classes based on their looks. To elaborate a little, the classes are set up according to how many offers they’re likely to receive and which class generates the most revenue. If the staff notice this, she may be moved up to Gold, but it’s extremely rare for someone to move up two classes at once… Of course, it’s a different story if she’s had cosmetic surgery or something similar!
