People who are good at it generally avoid letting their teeth make contact, so:
No teeth hitting ≒ no braces getting in the way
is probably the case, meaning it likely wouldn’t hurt.
That said, if someone is clumsy, it would probably hurt even without braces, so I imagine the pain might be doubled if they have braces.
But who knows?
