I’m considering registering as a female member. Is there anything I should be careful about during the interview? I’m not confident about my appearance, so in that case, should I just be especially mindful of how I communicate during the interview...?

This is Takashima from Universe Club. Some female members become more beauty-conscious and even more attractive after joining and going on dates. But first and foremost, you need to receive offers, so if you’re not confident in your looks, study and practice makeup until you feel more confident! Beyond appearance, what really attracts people is a warm, charming personality. Once you gain confidence, I think you’ll naturally start to radiate a sparkling aura♡

I’m Kazu, a male member. Please put in about as much effort as you’d feel comfortable maintaining for future dates. So, while making use of Papuwa’s advice, I think it would be a good idea to ask the staff at a cosmetics store or salon to show you how to do your makeup and hair in a way you could recreate yourself. Hair is especially important. It can be disappointing when someone looks different in person from their profile photo. I once made an offer to a woman because her profile showed her with straight hair, but when we met, she had bright, curled hair and looked like a hostess at a cabaret club, which was a bit of a letdown. (She had actually worked at one before, and since I hadn’t been to a cabaret club in a long time, we ended up reminiscing about them, so it turned into an enjoyable date anyway.) Everyone is attractive and has a nice personality, so it would be great if you could highlight your individuality. (I’m overlapping with Seattle here.) I think it’s a good idea to organize your thoughts beforehand so you can talk about your hobbies and special skills.

I’m Maezawa from Shacho-shitsu, and I’ll answer this as well. Both your conversation and your mannerisms are important, so you should pay attention to those aspects. As for how to make a good impression on the staff, I think it helps to keep the following in mind: For some reason, many people assume that male members and staff are separate. But when staff conduct interviews, they’re thinking, “If I were a male member, would I want to meet this woman?” So even if the staff member is younger than the actual male members—or is a woman—it’s best to imagine that the person in front of you is a male member in his 40s, 50s, or 60s.

I’m Seattle, a column writer. Speak politely. You’ll be nervous, but try your best to stay upbeat. Show that you’re motivated. Also, it helps to have some hobbies or appealing qualities to talk about.
