I sometimes come across questions where it's hard to tell what the person is actually trying to ask, like the earlier one: “The allowance for the first date is 5,000–10,000 yen, but how do you negotiate the allowance from the second date onward?” In this case, I felt they should have at least explained what they wanted to know it for.

Mamiya from Universe Tokyo here. As an answerer, by the time I see a question and am ready to respond, someone else has often already answered it. If my perspective differs, or a thank-you post has already been added, there’s no longer any room to answer the original question, and it gets buried again. I’ve also found this inconvenient over the past month as an answerer. I can certainly understand why this mixed-up question-box format is difficult for users as well. I’m sure Maezawa will eventually bring it up with Kida and have it added to the system department’s enormous list of tasks, so please bear with us a little longer, Kazu.

Regardless of what the questioner really meant, my answer is based on “This is what I would do...”（笑） It reminded me of something my boss told me when I was younger: “You lack ability, but you sure are confident...”

I’m Kazu, the male member who posted the question. Maezawa-san Exactly. I feel like people should at least include their gender. Papua-san When you work for a living, you often get sloppy inquiries from people at huge corporations or middle managers with reasonably impressive titles, and it’s exhausting. I guess that’s just how the world works. I can certainly agree with Mac-san’s point that “Nothing in this world is ever truly a waste,” but sometimes it still feels like I’m endlessly stacking stones in the underworld. Though, in its own way, this endless stone-stacking does seem to reduce some of the karma I accumulate through my club activities. Paper Airplane-san I’m all for people asking quick questions or just throwing something out there for now, but I don’t think that’s the same as writing a careless, jumbled question. I often find myself thinking, “Do you actually want an answer, or are we supposed to guess what the questioner meant?” Riichi-san It’s difficult, isn’t it? I do think people should get into the habit of considering the other person a little more when they speak, though. Mac-san When I read answers like the examples Mac-san mentioned, I sometimes feel like their Zen-style riddles have suddenly kicked in. That approach is fine too. In my case, though, unless I practice, those kinds of responses don’t come out smoothly, so I feel like I’d end up having fewer chances to answer.

I’m Maezawa from the president’s office, and I’ll answer as well. Sometimes, after seeing the response, the questioner sends more details in a follow-up question, which helps clarify the situation. There are even times when I find myself wondering whether the person asking is a man or a woman. In this case, for example, the answer would differ depending on whether a man or a woman is trying to negotiate the allowance.

Also, when you just want to quickly ask something for the time being, it’s convenient to be able to ask questions casually. That said, figuring things out like a deduction game can be interesting in its own way. For some reason, I’m surprised that most cases involve things I’ve experienced in life—or something close to me. When I texted my daughter, “Torima? What does that mean?” she replied, “It means ‘for now, anyway.’”
