What kind of women are in the Black rank?

I’m Saito, the columnist♪ I agree with Mac’s answer. The rankings definitely aren’t based solely on beauty. A woman you might think, “I’d consider it if the offer were ¥100,000,” would be ranked Platinum at ¥50,000.

Universe Tokyo’s Mamiya here. Is the standard for the Black class similar to that of a popular actress at the height of her career? Everyone has different preferences, so the criteria are set somewhat intuitively while taking the balance between supply and demand into account. It’s difficult to put them into words. I do feel that qualities such as a refined, wholesome look, an NHK-style face, an announcer-like appearance, a high level of education, and a sought-after profession like being a flight attendant have lasting appeal.

I’m Aizawa, Sub-Chief at Universe Club Tokyo, and I’d like to answer as well. There aren’t any particularly clear-cut criteria for the classes. Those who are exceptionally attractive, or who have something extra to offer—such as their occupation or background—are generally placed in the Black class. Since the class is decided by the interviewer and their supervisor, their personal preferences and impressions may inevitably influence the decision to some extent. It’s not really possible to create completely objective scoring criteria, and everyone has different ideas about what makes someone appealing, so in the end, it often comes down to a general overall impression. Our staff always try to assign each person the rank they believe will attract the most suitable offers.

Maezawa from the President’s Office here, answering as well. The basic criterion for passing the interview is whether or not you receive an offer, so I imagine that naturally becomes the basis for classifying women too. (There aren’t any clearly defined standards, though.) So, as Mac-san wrote, it would probably mean a woman with such a strong presence that a man would want to meet her even if it meant paying the setting fee for the Black Class. The kind of woman who makes you think the moment you meet her, “There’s just something about her… Black Class really is on another level.”

I’m Kazu, a male member. I seem to remember Kida-san answering somewhere about women who have “a certain presence.” I tried searching, but couldn’t find the answer right away. There don’t seem to be any clear-cut criteria. Black women are generally beautiful, but when it comes purely to looks, there are also women in Platinum whom I personally find more beautiful. Black women are generally pleasant personality-wise, but there are also women in Gold who have even better personalities. I think Black is probably decided somewhat intuitively. But it’s the kind of intuition where even male members think, “Yeah, she somehow fits.” If I had to put it into words, she’s “the kind of woman who feels like a Universe Black.” This is starting to sound like a Zen riddle. As Paper Airplane-san also mentioned, women in professions that tend to be popular—such as flight attendants, secretaries, race queens, and models—are more likely to be classified as Black. However, there are also women in those professions who are Platinum or Gold. It wouldn’t be unusual for someone in Standard, either. A woman’s class can also change after she becomes a member, depending on feedback from male members and the number of offers she receives. If the person asking is male: For now, you could join as Platinum or Gold, where there are the most male members, browse women’s profiles and make a few offers for a while, and then decide which class suits you. If the person asking is female: There’s no point worrying about it. Your class is determined by how other people evaluate you. If you want to move up, you’ll need papa-katsu-friendly makeup, a great figure, cultivated intelligence, the personality and approach to dating expected of a good papa-katsu woman, positive feedback from your arrangements, and perhaps even a career change into a popular profession. P.S. Mac-san’s answer is excellent. I didn’t need to write such a long response. That’s basically the whole point. Money and economics really are the wisdom of humankind.

I’m a male member, Paper Airplane. Black has its own advantages, but if you can stay at the Gold or Platinum level, that might be the better choice… Once you take that step, there’s no turning back—you can’t go back to how things were. So perhaps it’s better not to know. That said, if you place importance on professional titles such as flight attendant or secretary—things anyone can recognize at a glance—then Black would naturally be the better choice.
