I’m a university student in Ishikawa, and I’m trying to decide between a dating club in Kanazawa and Universe.

Mamiya from Universe Tokyo here. Dates in other areas can be a lot of fun, you know!? If you’d rather not date in Ishikawa, I think Universe would be your best option. Alternatively, you could try looking into matching apps.

I’m a male member, Paper Airplane. When I’m looking for women, I usually start by browsing on my smartphone. I go through the new female members from across the country one by one, and men in nearby areas also check profiles from regional locations. So if you’re a man interested in making an offer, I think your profile will catch someone’s eye.

I’m Kazu, a male member. If Kanazawa weren’t your home base, I’d recommend both as well. But if Kanazawa is local to you and you know a lot of people who are fairly well-off or wealthier, I think you’d be better off joining Universe and operating mainly in places like Nagoya, Osaka, or Tokyo to reduce the risk of being recognized. I’d rank the risk of being identified as: apps > local dating clubs > Universe. Now we just have to wait for Papuwa-san’s answer.

Maezawa from Shachōshitsu here. I think it would be a good idea to register with both. Each club probably has its own strengths and weaknesses. Depending on the person, a smaller dating club may be a better fit, while for others, a larger club like Universe may be preferable. I don’t think you’ll know which one suits you better until you try them. > Will I still receive offers if there’s no branch in my area? I think you need to be prepared to travel anywhere—Nagoya, Osaka, wherever. If you have that level of commitment and have the qualities they’re looking for, I think offers will come. > I’m from the area, so I’m really worried about being recognized. If you happen to know wealthy people, there is a chance someone could recognize you. But there’s also a risk of being identified through apps and similar services. If you’re worried, the safest option is not to do anything. I think you should carefully consider those risks as well. That said, with Universe, only a limited number of wealthy members can view the member page, and the club keeps the men’s personal information on file, so I don’t think they’re likely to do anything strange. When you look at it that way, the risk of being recognized seems lower than with dating sites or apps.
