Regarding the renewal fee. I’d like renewal fee waivers to be offered as a perk at least for Black-tier members. I’m currently with a club where joining the highest tier gives you an unlimited extension, but it does seem to increase the number of opportunities to make offers. Even if I joined Universe’s Black tier, if there weren’t any Black-tier women I wanted to make an offer to during the year—which I think is quite possible with Universe—I’d end up wasting a considerable amount of money. What do you think of a system where the membership is extended for one year only if you made at least one offer to a Black-tier woman within the previous year?

Kida here to answer! As you pointed out, the renewal fee for Black Class is high: ¥160,000 per year. I do think it may be worth considering changes under certain conditions. It got me curious, so I looked into the renewal fees at other clubs. Ashinaga Ojisan Platinum Class: ¥80,000 renewal fee → About the same as Universe’s Platinum Class → Apparently, they used to have a ¥160,000 class Ginza Crystal Club VIP membership: ¥60,000 renewal fee → Slightly cheaper than Universe’s Platinum Class I couldn’t find the fee for Special VIP membership. Aoyama Platinum Club → ¥200,000 Koiro → ¥30,000 Ange → ¥50,000 Versailles → No renewal fee for the highest rank Consolateur → ¥100,000 Tokyo Dating Club → ¥100,000 Roppongi Routine Club → Lifetime renewal-fee waiver for the highest rank *Based on information from the Japan Dating Club Association website: https://www.dateclub.or.jp/list Each club has its own philosophy behind its fee structure, so it’s difficult to categorically say whether a system is good or bad, cheap or expensive. I mean, Universe’s fee structure was probably just copied from systems used by clubs like Ginza Crystal and Aoyama Platinum anyway—I wasn’t the one who decided it (lol)—so there may not be any major reasoning behind it. For reference, papa-katsu sites like Paters charge ¥10,000 per month, while Sugar Daddy charges ¥5,000 per month, which comes to ¥60,000–¥120,000 per year. That’s not much different from the renewal fees for Platinum Class in the dating-club industry. I didn’t know that until now. So, regarding the “under certain conditions” part I mentioned at the beginning, I would consider options such as: ・A ¥500,000 enrollment fee with no renewal fee, subject to an annual review ・No enrollment fee, but a monthly usage fee of ¥30,000 ・A ¥300,000 enrollment fee as before, with renewal fees waived for male members whose ratings from the female members they’ve dated place them in the top 10% ・Reducing the renewal fee based on frequency of use That said, offering it for free goes against my principles, and I feel it could end up lowering the quality of both our members and the club itself. Why do people want a Birkin? Why do they want a Maybach? Of course, part of the reason is the high quality. But I think there’s also something to be said for the dignity of not selling yourself cheap. To be a little more candid, I realized that the fact that members with the rather low-level attitude of “There are hardly any women at Universe who qualify for Black Class, so they should lower the renewal fee like other clubs. If there aren’t any women I’m interested in, I’m taking a huge loss” are still enrolled in Universe’s Black Class means that Universe still isn’t a club operating at quite that high a level. That’s something I need to reflect on. I’m sure many women will read this question and think, “Maybe I shouldn’t join this club after all.” I’m sorry. We still have a long way to go.
