I’m Marika, one of the female members. I was encouraged to try writing a column, but I’m not much of a writer, so I became an answerer instead. Another reason is that I’ve often read the various answers and thought, “Hmm, that’s not quite it.” Mac, you do start wondering what kind of person could write things like that, don’t you?! I totally get it.

I’m Kazu, a male member. I had three reasons for applying to become a contributor: I found it interesting to read and wanted to join in; contributing to the community might lead to something fun; and I wanted a reason to check the anonymous Q&A box regularly. That’s all. The benefit of becoming a contributor is that the other contributors now know there’s someone named Kazu around. The downside is that it eats up a lot of my time. I’m interested in Mac too. You don’t come across someone this entertaining very often, do you? It would be fun if someone organized a get-together centered around Mac, but first, I think you should work on making Mac want to meet you.

We’d love to have you join us♪ We look forward to welcoming you. When I joined, I read Representative Kida’s posts and browsed this Q&A site. I thought, “This looks like fun—and somehow really welcoming~” Thanks to that, I’ve been able to banter here in the Q&A with people I could never meet in everyday life, and it’s been a truly valuable experience. This is the first I’ve heard of any branch recommending that. Basically, unless you genuinely want to answer questions, you’ll lose heart when people gang up on you. You need to have the attitude of: “It doesn’t matter how many anonymous cowards who won’t even give their names show up.” So, just as male responders often tell women that they need to be prepared, becoming a male responder also requires some resolve. (Laughs) Female responders don’t need quite that much resolve, though, so please apply in droves. (Laughs) If it were me, I’d want to ask why they chose ¥5,000 when there was a range. Though, of course, there’s no such system. But if I were receiving a setting fee, I suppose I could at least ask the other person, “Would you accept that?” or something. More importantly… “Mac-san VS Saito-san” The two famous figures finally face off. Who will win? Something like that… Like Mazinger Z vs. Devilman. When I was a kid, I’d get excited wondering which one was stronger. But in the end, they never actually fought—they teamed up to battle the villains. So where exactly is the “VS”? That classic ○○ VS ○○ series. (Laughs)

I’m Paper Airplane, a male member. If you have plenty of experience outside the club as well, I’d love to hear from you! Club experience is like a fixed game in sports where you paid to participate, so I wouldn’t really call it experience with women… I became a respondent because one of my younger girlfriends joined the club. Out of curiosity, I joined too, and I’d also been hearing her concerns, various things that happened, and her honest feelings. I thought answers from that perspective might be interesting and a little different, so that’s how it started. Because I understand how difficult it can be to join the club and know the honest feelings involved, I’ve received some wonderfully appreciative messages from questioners who felt a connection with my answers. But lately, my ridiculous way of thinking has been exposed, and I’ve fallen so far that I’ve practically been publicly executed. The one saving grace is probably that, among all that, I’ve received reverse offers from some questioners with whom I felt a genuine connection… The biggest benefit of becoming a respondent is that the question box has replaced cigarettes. It’s truly become a way for me to relieve stress. When work gets irritating and stressful, I open the question box for just a moment, and it gives me a breather and relieves my stress, just like taking a long, satisfying drag on a cigarette. For the first time, I feel like I slightly understand why people smoke. So I enjoy reading everyone’s answers. Ahhh… another refreshing “smoke break.”
