So we’re talking about the golden rules of jacket-and-trouser coordination!
I remember attending a seminar on the ultimate outfits for finding a marriage partner, where the instructor said we should aim for an “elegant casual” look.
Even with a polo shirt, simply switching to white pants or changing your shoes can instantly transform a dowdy casual outfit into elegant casual. Functional bags are also a no-go, and so on.
Adding an accent color is important too, so I think it’s a good idea to work one colorful item into your outfit. Pale pink or red might feel a little challenging, but I hope you’ll use them as styling inspiration.
The best part was that you could achieve the whole transformation with Uniqlo!
For dates, I don’t mind a sporty, casual look on a man, but I’d rather he didn’t wear running shoes. And clear plastic umbrellas are a real mood-killer（笑）
Today is our staff grooming check day. I’d love to offer male members a complete fashion makeover service someday.

People who look good in anything can probably get away with any kind of outfit. But I think that doesn’t apply to everyone.
In that case, wearing a jacket even in the heat could be an option. However, since summer is hot, getting drenched in sweat could backfire, so you’ll need to be careful about a few things.

I think just a shirt should be fine.
I’ll wear a shirt my wife gave me as a present. I have absolutely no sense of style, so she picks out my clothes for me.
To avoid arousing suspicion, it might be a good idea to have your family or partner choose some stylish clothes for you in advance.
P.S. When I see my longtime girlfriend, she checks the labels and asks me all sorts of detailed questions, so I try not to wear clothes like that when I meet her.

I’m Kazu, a male member.
I usually wear a polo shirt. It’s hot, and I want to wear short sleeves, so I figure a polo shirt is probably acceptable.
If an important business client wanted me to wear a suit, I’d put one on no matter how hot it was. But my date from the club isn’t paying my company an eight-figure sum. And it would be rude to the other person to dial back my effort afterward, so I’m not going to make a special effort just for this occasion.
That said, I do have a certain respect for women who make the effort to dress properly whenever they go out, even when it’s a hassle. I couldn’t do it.
So, my recommendation is a polo shirt.
As an afterthought: if my date happened to have a thing for suits, and wearing one made the mood after dinner dramatically better, then I suppose I wouldn’t mind dressing up properly in a suit after all.
