I recently interviewed with Universe Club. It’s been about a week and a half since the interview, but I still haven’t heard anything by LINE or email. According to experiences I read on the site, people received an update or first-meeting opportunities within two or three days, so… should I assume that I didn’t pass the interview? Also, if possible, could you tell me how long it took for you to receive a reply after your interview or when you contacted them about something else?

Universe Club Tokyo, Mamiya here. If you haven’t heard from us, it could mean that you weren’t accepted, that a staff member failed to pass along the information, or that you were accepted but your registration hasn’t been completed yet. If the interviewer didn’t say anything to you, the last possibility is the most likely. Registration takes up to one week, so if you still haven’t heard from us after that, please contact us again.

Maezawa from the President’s Office here. This question comes up regularly, and it led us to consider whether changes to our internal procedures might be necessary. First, President Kida checked the current situation a little while ago and found that most branches notify applicants of rejection on the same day. Even at the few branches that don’t, applicants are told things like: “If you haven’t heard from us by the end of today, you were not accepted.” or “If you haven’t heard from us by tomorrow, you were not accepted.” (This applies when the interview takes place in the evening.) In other words, you should know by the following day whether you passed or not. However, registration itself can sometimes take about a week, which makes things a little more complicated. Just to be safe, could you please contact the branch where you had your interview?
