Maezawa from the president’s office here. I haven’t seen your profile, so I can’t say for sure, but this is actually quite common. The staff select what they think are the best photos—the ones most likely to attract offers. Also, not all of the registered photos are visible to women, so they put thought into the order as well. That’s why they choose a first photo that they think will make people click when it appears in the listings. Once someone clicks, they can view the full profile, and then hopefully look through the second photo and the ones after that. Also, the photos staff think are likely to attract offers are usually different from the ones the woman herself likes best. Sometimes I think it may be a difference between the male and female perspectives, but the same thing happens even when a female staff member conducts the interview. There may simply be a gap between the photos you think are good and the ones the staff think are good. Basically, I’d recommend trusting the staff for now. However, whether or not you receive offers is important, so you could ask, “I remember there was a photo with this kind of pose when you took my pictures. Would it be possible to switch to that one?” That said, some branches delete any photos not used for registration as soon as the profile is created, so it may be difficult. Other branches keep them for a little while before deleting them, so it might be worth asking just in case.

I’m a male member, Paper Airplane. If you’re confident in your looks and physique, the photo selected by the staff may be perfectly fine. You may be very concerned about it yourself, but in most cases, the staff’s first choice is by far the best one. For the time being, it may be worth trusting the staff’s objective judgment. It’s extremely rare for someone to look obviously unphotogenic. If you’re still worried, I recommend uploading four or five private photos yourself, taken from different angles and distances, with a variety of poses.
