A dinner gathering is something the club specially arranges when, for example, someone requests to meet as two men and two women. Whether or not to accept the request is up to the individual branch, so it may be declined in the first place.
Normally, staff do not attend these gatherings. (They may go to the meeting spot, but once the men and women meet, the staff leave.)
Since you were told that a staff member would be attending this time, it may have been more of a roundtable discussion.
If it was a roundtable format, that’s pretty rare, so maybe it would have been worth participating?
Could it have been related to Mr. Saito? I’m not very familiar with the details, so I can’t say for sure.
At a regular dinner gathering, things afterward are the same as with an ordinary date.
Each man may invite you out, and you’re free to decide how you want to proceed with them romantically.
