If you invite a woman from Tokyo to a regional area, how much would you consider reasonable for the allowance and other costs? The first date would be online, followed by one-night, two-day dates, with the assumption that you’ll be together for 24 hours. Transportation at actual cost, accommodation, and meals would of course be covered. My question is how much would be appropriate as an allowance for an adult relationship. Normally, I have women accompany me on the basis of a 50,000-yen allowance per date for an adult relationship. I plan to choose hotels and restaurants based on the woman’s preferences so she can enjoy her stay, and without factoring in the amount of time we’ll spend together, I’m thinking of initially offering the usual 50,000 yen. I realize it varies widely from person to person, but I’d appreciate your input.

I’m Meg, a female member. Your first date is online, and then you’re planning such a long date right afterward…? Huh? Are you really planning something that feels like Russian roulette…? (muttering)

Maezawa from the Corporate Planning Office here—I’ll answer as well. As Joe said, I agree that “covering transportation costs and giving a proper allowance—don’t be stingy—is the basic rule.” If you follow that, you probably can’t go wrong. That said, you may still wonder, “How much is enough to not be considered stingy?” In that case, I think it’s best to ask the other person directly, as Mac suggested.

It’s Joe. A breakdown of the costs from one particular occasion: Travel expenses: 100,000 yen — Tokyo to Okinawa Allowance: confidential (2 nights, 3 days) Other expenses: 600,000 yen I don’t think this is typical. But one important point, in my opinion, is not to skimp on travel expenses. If you fly Peach, you can make the round trip for 30,000 yen. Using an LCC isn’t really an option at a dating club, though—that’s just Joe’s opinion, even if I do use them myself. Also, staying at a private villa may not impress her at all. In short, the basics are not to skimp on transportation or the allowance. That said, I think it also depends on the relationship.

I’m Gaku, a male member. I love overnight dates, but it’s definitely best to confirm the allowance in advance. The allowance itself is fine, but going straight from meeting online to an overnight date carries a lot of risk for both sides. You may even find that spending a long time together is difficult. I think it’s better to first see whether you’re compatible physically and emotionally. Even if you’ve agreed on everything beforehand, spending a long time together will usually reveal each other’s flaws. I hope it works out well for you.

I’m Hikouki, a male member. Was the person who wrote this question a man? Or possibly a woman? Which one could it be?? Wouldn’t it be better to either ask the other person what allowance they’re hoping for, or go with five plus an extra amount based on how intimate things become the next day…? Alternatively, you could discuss what each of you has in mind regarding the allowance during your online conversations, then decide on the exact amount after meeting. I think that’s a good option too. The reason is that your impression of someone may change once you meet them in person. If you’re going to increase the allowance, I think it’s better to do so after meeting—and hand it over the following day. Just as with a regular arranged date, deciding after you meet will probably lead to greater satisfaction. When someone is traveling from far away, emotions run high and they may become more generous than usual. If you decide everything online before meeting, you may end up regretting it… And reflecting on your decision afterward…

I’m Its Me, a male member. - Since the male member covers all actual expenses and also provides the enjoyment of a little trip, the usual allowance should be fine. - No, I’m taking time off work and spending 24 hours with the male member, so I’d like compensation for those 24 hours. I think female members’ views are probably clearly divided between these two positions. Both arguments are valid, so as you said, it might be best to start by asking, “Would the usual allowance work for you?” I think you’ll get an answer right away, and it should leave both sides feeling more comfortable.
