I work as a hostess at an upscale club, and I’m considering joining Universe Club. Have you seen an increase in new female members with a similar background lately? I’m wondering whether it’s worth joining if there isn’t much demand.

I’m Flag Maker, a column writer. Whether she’s a club hostess, a cabaret girl, an AV actress, or a sex worker, I’m fine with anyone as long as she’s a good person. I don’t care about anything except whether she’s a good person.

I’m a male member, BB7. Sometimes I see women whose profiles say “nightlife” or “hospitality.” Women from the nightlife industry tend to give off a distinctive aura that feels somehow different from that of other women. I also get the impression that many of them ask for ridiculously high allowances for their rank. Taking into account that many men at Uni seem to be tired of professionals—or simply not interested in them in the first place—I wonder whether Uni men would actually want to make them an offer. Personally, even if she were exactly my type looks-wise, I would never make an offer—1000% no. Sorry.

Maezawa from the Corporate Planning Office here as well. > I’m thinking about joining Universe Club, but I’m not sure. If you’re unsure, I recommend giving it a try. Women don’t have to pay anything, and you can leave whenever you like. > I’m worried it might not be worth it if there isn’t much demand. Ultimately, whether you receive offers depends on your own appeal. Even men who say they don’t want to meet women from the nightlife industry through a dating club will probably still want to meet if they find her attractive—and end up making an offer.

I’m Date◎Yume, a male member. Why not? (笑) For me, it all depends on the individual. There are quite a few hostesses I’ve genuinely fallen for. I imagine other male members feel the same way. You could always register and see how things go. I think there’s nothing wrong with letting people decide how they rate you.

I’m Kamihikoki, a male member. Please, don’t join. There’s no demand for you here… You’ll probably be stunned when you find that the offers and allowances you receive are only half of what you expected—no, one-third, or more likely one-fifth… So please don’t come… goodbye… P.S. Scouts are sending in hordes of women from hostess bars, lounges, and clubs. Staff, if possible, please ban people from the nightlife industry from entering!!! Men and women tend to fall into two completely opposite categories: those with a hostess-type mentality, and those who are the exact opposite. They drink, get hyped up, make a scene, sexually harass people, and fill the place with cigarette smoke (you can’t breathe). They make the whole area noisy. Their atmosphere—and the world they live in—are completely different. It’s a world where men act like customers and unilaterally call the shots. There are many men and women who are simply impossible to deal with, whether as coworkers, employees, or customers. A club is a calm, refined world where people interact one-on-one, and both women and men show hospitality to each other even though money is involved. That’s why people from the nightlife industry are quickly found out (they often lie about all sorts of things besides their occupation) and many end up leaving soon after joining.

I’m Joe, a columnist. I usually chime in afterward, but this time I’m taking the lead—or something like that? As for whether there’s demand, I think there is. But given the current climate, competition is fierce. More importantly, though, the male members at Universe are much stingier than the clients we’ve had before—with me at the top of the list. ← According to Joe’s research. Don’t be too shocked. If you’re aware of that, signing up could still be worthwhile as a life experience.
