I understand that when an offer comes from a male member, I’ll be given a general profile. But would I be introduced without knowing anything at all about what he looks like?

Maezawa from the Planning Department will answer this as well. When you’re notified that an offer has come in for you, it includes a brief introduction to the man. Something like: “He’s in his 30s, runs an IT-related company, is tall and seems kind, and enjoys driving and traveling.” That’s generally all the information you get. You won’t really know what kind of person he is until you meet him, but that’s how meetings are arranged through Universe. Recently, a male profile feature was added, so some men write a little more about themselves there. However, some men don’t fill out a profile at all. Even so, many of them turn out to be nice people once you meet them, so I don’t think you need to worry too much.

I’m Rin, a female member. I completely understand your concern. You’re meeting this person for the first time, and you may be having dinner together—or possibly taking things further. In reality, very few people have photos available at the offer stage. When someone hasn’t made their profile public, the introduction from the club becomes your main source of information. They usually describe the person’s general vibe with phrases like “soft-spoken,” “enjoys conversation,” “stylish,” “reserved,” or “cute when they smile.” They rarely comment directly on appearance. At most, they might say something like, “He wears glasses” or “He looks youthful.” Someone who is considerably heavier than average may be described as “full-figured.” Sometimes I see the phrase “not particularly concerned with his appearance,” which I’ve recently come to understand as meaning “not very conscious of cleanliness or grooming.” Either way, the staff tend to highlight the person’s good qualities and appealing points, so I make my judgment based on both that impression and how I feel when we meet in person. Personally, since men are making an offer while taking on various burdens themselves, I go to the meeting feeling grateful, hopeful, and excited. I hope you have a wonderful encounter.

I’m Basil, a male member. Some men may have photos on their public profiles, but I think that’s pretty rare. They want to avoid being identified, since there’s a risk of losing their social standing. Also, some may feel that posting an unflattering photo of an older man would actually work against them. Since the club is funded by membership fees and other payments from men, please understand that the rules are designed to favor male members.

I’m だて◎ゆめ, a male member. I completely understand your concern. However, if a man’s information were leaked, many male members would face serious consequences, so I hope you can understand why quite a few of them aren’t able to share their information publicly. As for their appearance, you can probably think of them as no different from the ordinary middle-aged men you see around you every day. If there’s anything different, it would likely be the way they see the world, their ideas and ability to act on what they notice—and, most importantly, their naughty side. What kind of naughty older man will he be? I hope you’ll look forward to meeting him and finding out. As 紙ひこうきさん mentioned, you might also want to screen him through an online date(笑)

I’m Hikōki, a male member. I think in most cases, you have no idea what the man looks like, since many male members don’t disclose their photo, income, occupation, or anything else. Considering that you may receive various kinds of support, mainly financial, and that the relationship could potentially lead to a lifelong connection, ongoing support, or even business collaboration, I think that’s unavoidable. In fact, it may be better to view the lack of information positively. If details like their occupation or income were made public, I imagine many men would immediately leave the service. I certainly would. That said, as a woman, it’s understandably very worrying and nerve-racking to wonder whether someone with an absolutely terrible appearance, vibe, or way of speaking might show up. If you’re concerned, you can request an online date. That way, you can resolve those concerns before meeting in person for the first date.
