I’m a male member who joined this year. I found this Q&A forum two weeks ago and have been learning the rules and etiquette of club members. My question is: If I make an offer to a Type D woman, would it be considered rude to offer only a meal and transportation expenses? I imagine that women choose Type D with a certain level of resolve and come on dates expecting a reasonable allowance. I’m an older man whose libido isn’t particularly strong, and I can’t really perform unless there’s at least some mutual feeling involved—even if the woman is only pretending. I realize this is entirely for my own convenience, but I’d appreciate any advice.

Female member Possibly the oldest one here? This is Meg. You’re certainly a diligent student. That attitude is wonderful! So, if I may, I’d like to share one thought. This may be sudden, but have you heard of the five conjugations of “D”? I doubt anyone knows them, so I’ve listed them below. Your question was: “Would it be rude to offer a D-type only dinner and transportation costs?” Correct? Well then, here we go. **Da**re do you think you’re making an offer to?! **Di**d you think you could take a D-type for granted? **Du**ty-free shopping isn’t what you should be doing right now. **De**al with it—you’re accepting a date even while self-isolating! **Do**esn’t matter what it is, just hurry up and ↓ **Da**ng, bring out something worthwhile! (Repeat indefinitely.) Well, what do you think? I’d really hate to run into such an overconfident papa-katsu woman (PJ). Though I’m actually a timid PB (papa-katsu hag) myself☆ Wise questioner, you already know the answer, I’m sure. Wishing you a wonderful encounter♪

I’m a male member, Paper Airplane. Given your circumstances, if you like her when you meet, why not ask early on what allowance she’s hoping for and give it to her upfront, whether or not you end up going to a hotel? After that, I think an allowance for dinner only should be fine. With online dates, you can ask in advance whether she’s okay with a dinner-only date, so I was able to meet people with peace of mind regarding the concern you mentioned.

Maezawa from the Corporate Planning Office here. Both parties have the right to decline, so under the rules, there’s absolutely no problem with ending the date after dinner only. Conversely, even if you intend to go somewhere afterward, the woman may say, “I’d like to end things after dinner today, please.” There are no exceptions, even if she’s Dating Type D. That said, realistically, women who choose Type D will usually be disappointed if things end after dinner only. So if there’s a possibility that you’ll end the date after dinner, I recommend offering to a Type C woman instead. With Type C, the probability is 50%—one in two women are open to dinner only—so if she’s disappointed, you could say that she may have chosen the wrong dating type. Therefore, in this situation, my recommendation is to offer to a Type C woman. If you really want to date a Type D woman, you could ask the staff to send her a message when making the offer, such as: “I really wanted to meet you, so I made this offer, but there’s a possibility that we may end the date after dinner only. Would you still be willing to accept the offer?” If she isn’t comfortable with dinner only, she’ll probably decline at that stage. Incidentally, going to a hotel and then saying there’s no allowance because things didn’t work out would be the worst outcome. So you should either make a clear decision during dinner, or make sure to pay the agreed allowance regardless of whether things work out or not.
