If you try to resolve this without involving them, there’s a chance you could be charged with a crime yourself. If it was counterfeit, there’s a good chance the person made it themselves. Take it to the police and tell them, “This person gave it to me,” along with their real name, company name, and address. The police should investigate, so I think you’ll achieve your objective.
Unlike regular banknotes, I don’t think anyone else’s fingerprints would be found if they dusted it for prints, so it could serve as evidence too.
You could also spread the information online, which might lead to that person—and even their company—being socially destroyed. But in that case, I feel sorry for the other people who work at the same company.
