Also, unfortunately, I think you’re past the stage of having time to polish yourself—you’re now at the point where you need to make use of your life experience. I’d like you to play to the mature appeal that younger women don’t have.

It’s completely different from papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), but I’ve become curious about what the world of “on-call hosts” is like, so I’m thinking about going to an interview. I just haven’t worked up the courage yet, haha.

I gradually brought up the subject to see whether she might be interested in papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), but… She said she couldn’t even consider papa-katsu, so I gave up on bringing it up, even casually. She had jokingly told me many times before, “You should do papa-katsu,” or “Go do papa-katsu,” but… I guess she was half serious and half joking. While I felt relieved to hear her say she wouldn’t do papa-katsu, it also made me realize once again—including from my own experience of joining Univa—that women in particular need to make a very firm decision to take that step. From a woman’s perspective, the hurdle is quite high, so I’d suggest joining when the timing feels right rather than rushing into it. Also, since you’re asking, “Can I do papa-katsu?” just before turning 40, you seem fairly confident in your looks. There may even be men among those around you who would be willing to support you in a way similar to papa-katsu. Univa is a good club too, but if you’re still unsure, something a little more natural like that can be wonderful as well.
