I’ll soon have been registered for a year as a female member. I’ve received a little over 10 offers in total, and fewer than 10 dates have actually taken place… Is it possible to have my rank lowered?

Maezawa from the Management Planning Office here as well. If you’ve received a little over 10 offers in a year, it seems you’ve been getting a reasonable number of offers. I assume you’d like to receive more, but lowering your class doesn’t necessarily mean the number of offers will increase. For example, let’s say a Gold woman is moved down to Standard. Black men generally make offers to Black or Platinum women. Occasionally, they may also look at Gold women who are on par with Platinum, but they generally won’t go as far as checking Standard women. So if you move down from Gold to Standard expecting more offers, it’s possible that the number won’t increase at all. That said, if you’re currently a Black woman, moving up to Platinum could increase your offers, so your current class is important. We can’t tell you what your current class is, but try asking: “I’d like to receive more offers. Would it be possible to lower my class?” We can’t give you any specifics, but they may quietly lower your class for you. However, as mentioned above, if they feel lowering it wouldn’t have any effect, they may leave it as is.

I’m a male member who goes by “Paper Airplane.” If you’re in the Kanto area, I don’t think changing classes is necessary. The Standard class is still fairly high-level, and the class system—from Black down to Standard—seems to serve its purpose. If you’re outside the major cities, moving down to Gold or up to Black might make a difference, but that only applies if you’re currently in Platinum. If you’re currently in Gold, however, dropping to Standard in a regional area would significantly reduce the chances of being viewed.

I’m Marika, a female member. If you’re getting lots of offers but none of the dates are actually happening, wouldn’t lowering your class just bring in even more offers that don’t lead anywhere? Why do I receive offers but fail to finalize any dates? There could be something on your end—for example, you may be turning people down based on their profiles, or your schedule may be too busy to coordinate. Think carefully about whether you want more offers or want to improve the rate at which your current offers turn into dates, and I recommend discussing it with your branch representative. Another factor is how well you’re able to maintain things with the people you meet. Even if you receive offers from dozens of people, if nothing continues, you’ll have to keep meeting new people, so your allowance won’t be stable.

I’m Meg, a female member. Hmmmm... No matter how much I think about it, I can’t figure out why you’d want to lower your rank. If you’re getting that many offers through Universe, I’d say you’re doing fairly well. Even if you haven’t had many dates come together, wouldn’t having someone who’s been seeing you regularly over the long term mean you wouldn’t be struggling that much? I don’t think rank matters all that much, but if you ask them to lower it, they may well do so.
