I know this may not be the best time, but are you currently hiring staff?

Mamiya from the Tokyo Unit here. I just interviewed a candidate for our 2021 new graduate intake! They were incredibly bright, and I’d love to hire them on the spot. We’re also finalizing offers for more candidates through online interviews one after another. Unless the company instructs otherwise, we plan to continue recruiting new graduates as we are. At the moment, our Tokyo department isn’t planning to hire mid-career candidates, but if you think you’re the right person for the job, we’d love to meet you online!!

Maezawa from the Corporate Planning Office here. I checked with the hiring department, and they said: “We’ve put new hiring on hold until things settle down. Once sales are 100 times higher, we’ll be hiring like crazy, so please apply then.” One hundred times higher? Hearing “100 times” makes it sound like they’ll never recruit again. That said, they were still hiring until just recently—I believe around eight people joined this month—so once things settle down and sales return to their previous upward trend, I think they’ll resume normal hiring.
