In principle, the person paying and the person providing a service or goods should be on equal footing. In the real world, though, the former has overwhelmingly more power.
There are exceptions, of course. With works of art, for example, it’s a seller’s market, and people may wait years at the asking price.
Before arguing about equality, why not work on yourself so you can get even a little closer to that level? If you’re truly attractive, offers will come flooding in—with staff support and all—even if you have a history of cancellations.
I’d lost my motivation for club activities for a while, but while waiting for a date—the first one I’d had in ages—I decided to answer a question again.

You’re absolutely right.
This is just my guess, but men make offers to women they really want to meet because they’re paying money to do so. In other words, they’re willing to pay the club just for the chance to meet her.
So when someone cancels despite wanting to meet that badly, we assume there must have been truly exceptional circumstances.
Women, on the other hand, are in a more passive position and haven’t paid anything, so we feel that some may cancel simply because they’ve changed their minds.
Of course, genuinely serious circumstances do happen, but unfortunately, that isn’t always the case.
For that reason, we’re truly sorry to those who had a legitimate emergency, but because it’s difficult to distinguish between cases, cancellations will lower your rating. If you cancel your very first meeting after joining, you may be forcibly removed from the club, since you won’t have any dating history.
