As an aside, some men are very particular about the name of the university. We even get inquiries asking us to disclose it before they make an offer.
I’m not sure why they care so much, but women often leave the club after going on a date with one particular man. When we asked around, we heard things like, “He went on and on about how I was a disgrace to ○○ University (a prestigious university), and I ended up thinking I should just leave the club.”
However, perhaps because they were asked not to say anything, they never tell us the whole story.
But when we piece together what several women have told us, it seems that this man may be a lecturer at the university, raising suspicions that he might be using his position to meet women after dinner. There’s no evidence, though.
It also makes me wonder whether, when a woman turns him down, he tells her that she isn’t suitable for the university.
With that in mind, I think it may be best to disclose your university only to men you’ve gotten to know, perhaps from the second date onward.
The club may answer individual inquiries from men. If we don’t know the name, we can’t give it out, so I don’t think you necessarily need to tell the club your university.
That said, there can be benefits to sharing it. If you attend an extremely prestigious university, for example, you might be able to tell a man, “I can’t say which one, but I attend one of the most prestigious universities in the country.”
Of course, he may start fishing for clues—“Which one? T, W, or K?”—and eventually figure it out anyway. But in rare cases, that can lead to an offer.
Either way, please do whatever won’t leave you with regrets.
