Someone may write “good personality” in her profile, but after receiving lots of offers, she may gradually become rather stuck-up. Or I may make an offer because I think she’s beautiful, only to find that she’s passive and the conversation doesn’t really flow. The terms of the arrangement are easy to search for, but personality isn’t. I tell the staff something like: “On [date], at [restaurant] in [hotel]. I can adjust to however much she eats, but are there any women who enjoy drinking wine at the counter? I’m imagining wrapping things up before [time].” Then they introduce someone to me. If she seems like a good fit, I make an offer right away. The thing I’m most conscious of is the time we’ll leave. I think it helps if the staff can easily picture the situation and offer a wider range of choices, such as: “If we have about [number] hours, would it be possible to get to Omiya or Chiba directly from this hotel? Is there anyone that would work?” Of course, I always make sure to give feedback as well. Above all, I’m especially careful to make sure she leaves before the agreed-upon time—always.
