Have you ever been harshly berated or confronted with an angry expression by someone during the initial setup or later in the relationship? If so, what was the situation, and what caused it?

Maezawa from the Corporate Planning Office here as well. Rather than just women at Universe, I think this probably applies to Japanese women in general. They put up with so much that I sometimes wonder how they can endure it. In this case, though, I think it’s generally the women who are more likely to be insulted or criticized by men and simply put up with it. I’ve never heard of a man being insulted by a woman. (Though we do get those messages addressed to the staff(笑))

I’m Adventure Merchant, a column writer. I’ve never once had a woman give me that kind of look. Honestly, just as Sozetsu-san writes, this place is a training ground. Nor have I ever given my partner that kind of look. However, when the last-minute cancellations kept happening, and despite agreeing to meet three times a month under a monthly arrangement—with the allowance set and even paid in advance—we only managed to meet for about an hour in an entire month because of reasons like work coming up or a hangover, and that continued for two months, I felt utterly hopeless. Of course, even then, I didn’t show any anger, and I kept my messages extremely calm. In the end, I simply wrote, “I’ve been transferred to another region because of work, so we won’t be able to meet anymore. It’s a shame.” And that was the end of it. P.S. After I sent the goodbye message, she replied, “I really loved you, ○○-san!” And I shouted silently to myself, “Well, of course you’d love me if you could get ○○万円 just for having tea with me for an hour!” (lol)

I’m Paper Airplane, a male club member. Since this is essentially a meeting between a man and a woman involving money, with both sides being considerate and treating each other well, I don’t think that would happen, but… Some people probably aren’t suited to joining a club in the first place. When you consider supply and demand, the men pay for everything—the allowance, the introduction fee, and so on. If you look at it as the man always being the one who loses, then no matter what happens, the woman never loses anything. In a club, men who don’t expect anything in return are seen as kind and gentlemanly. So if you accept that the man is the one who takes the loss, I don’t think there’s really anything to worry about.
