As Maezawa mentioned, we did previously have people come to us from the streets, but that is now completely illegal, and we do not associate with anyone involved in criminal activity, so we turn them all away.
Since you were invited into a suspicious business, I have to say that people who engage in illegal activities really are best avoided.

I also know one street scout. I met him through a girl I encountered at Universe.
She was a platinum-level female university student, but apparently she hadn’t joined Universe through a street scout. She had gotten into trouble while trying to switch clubs where she worked part-time, and this person stepped in as a mediator. Since then, she always goes through him whenever she looks for work in the nightlife scene.
He wasn’t scouting for Universe.
The reason I thought I’d try to get closer to street scouts was that I wanted access to girls at the very top—or rather, the very entrance—of the dating-club pipeline, hoping they could send me some fresh faces. The scout understood and introduced me to some girls, but it didn’t work out.
The girls weren’t fresh at all…
They all had that used-up-by-the-hostess or adult-entertainment industry aura—the type who would probably be rejected if they interviewed at Universe.
So, when I read this question, what surprised me most was that the girl introduced by the street scout actually passed Universe’s interview.
(I imagine the person who asked this has mixed feelings, but please take it as a compliment.)
That said, both the online scout I favor and the street scout mentioned above are very compassionate.
When a girl is genuinely struggling, they work incredibly hard to find a papa (a male supporter) who will help her out or a venue willing to hire her. They’ll even plead with Universe on behalf of a girl who was expelled for being late on her first day, saying, “Please, just this once. She’s actually a good girl.”
I’m a person of the Showa era, so I like people who work this earnestly. But when you consider Universe’s profitability as a company, I understand that it would probably be better for them to stick to a dry affiliate system and keep emotions out of it.
Regarding my comment that the girls sent by street scouts aren’t fresh, I especially don’t want the women reading this to misunderstand: it’s not that they’re unattractive. They’re all beautiful.
However, what the older men in dating clubs are looking for is freshness over beauty.
I think the other male members will agree with me on that.
Everyone makes an effort to increase their level of beauty, but the more they do so, the more they lose that sense of freshness. Cosmetic surgery is a perfect example.
It’s a blind spot, so keep that in mind.

However, things have changed significantly in a short period of time. Society is moving toward eliminating street scouting, with even television programs featuring reports about scouts being arrested.

So, we currently do not accept introductions from people who scout on the street.

My guess is that the scout had no connection whatsoever with Universe.

If you mean Universe’s contact information rather than a specific staff member’s, it’s easy to find.
It’s also possible that a staff member’s contact information was passed along to him indirectly.
Alternatively, when someone says they want to introduce women as a scout, the staff member now decides whether to enter into a contract with them. He may have obtained the contact information during that process.
(Even if no contract is ultimately signed, he would still have the phone number by that point.)

He probably introduced you to various clubs so that you would trust him. His real objective seems to have been recruiting you into that shady network-marketing business.
