I joined a dating club because I want to experience a pseudo-romance that feels as close to real love as possible, while keeping the risks under control. For someone like me, what makes it “as close to real love as possible” is having a relationship “without money involved”—with a woman I don’t have to feel I’m buying with money—so I check with the women I approach to see whether they would be willing to date under those terms. I’m interested in beautiful women in their late 30s or older, and so far about 40% have agreed. I’m not exactly a great catch, so I’m satisfied with that “success rate,” but for one reason or another, I still haven’t actually made it as far as a hotel. I ended up writing this after seeing the thoughtful responses from Leaf and the other commentator members. In practice, how feasible are relationships without an allowance, and how often do they actually happen? Also, from the perspective of female members, what do you think about relationships “without money involved”?
