Do male staff members who conduct interviews just grit their teeth when a woman they instantly fall for comes in? If it were me, and an incredibly cute young woman showed up, I’d be thinking, “This girl is going to end up with some old guy about her father’s age… aaaargh!!” and I’m pretty sure I’d become emotionally unwell right away.

So I can’t say whether any staff members have ever had to conduct an interview while secretly fighting back tears, or whether they’ve simply developed hearts of steel. In my case, when a woman I like comes in, I find myself wanting to somehow help her go on a date with a good man. Since she took the trouble to register, I want to help her find what she’s looking for—that’s probably the feeling. The question was about male staff members interviewing female applicants, but the same applies in reverse: even if a male member develops feelings for a female staff member, it won’t progress beyond that.
