I don’t really care about helping people, but I absolutely love the phrase “frustrated wives.” The word “wife” alone is so evocative that it practically makes you think, “She must be frustrated, that wife,” even though they probably aren’t actually frustrated. Still, “wife” is a wonderful word. And whether these wives are frustrated or not is, frankly, beside the point. Because they aren’t frustrated. Wives are having a much more enjoyable time than men imagine. And even if they feel a little unfulfilled, what they’re looking for is romance with a handsome guy—not “Well, an older man will do, I guess.” Questioner, you talk about helping people and discovering a sleeping gold mine, but aren’t you really thinking something along the lines of: “If she’s a reasonably attractive, frustrated wife, maybe she won’t need an allowance—or I can get away with paying very little. She’s in a weak position, after all.” Even if that’s not actually what you mean, it’s a wonderfully old-school story. As for getting frustrated wives to register with Universe, the benefits for them would be far too limited—and the risks far too great—so I think it would be better to start a separate club. I haven’t shared any personal information, but one male member told me, “If you pay attention, you can pretty much tell who’s married.” If I were the person in charge, I might answer something like: “Maybe I’m mistaken, but this feels less like a question box and more like a suggestion box. Or rather… A suggestion box for adding a married-women-only dating club? Everyone, please take a moment to remember: This is a dating club. We can’t just set one up as casually as a 7-Eleven!
