You previously said you were getting offers, but now you’re saying, “I’m not getting any offers at all.” Which version are we supposed to believe when answering? There’s also a feature that lets you share your member number only with respondents. I think you’d get more specific advice about why this is happening and what you should do if you use it.

A topic is what makes a message board work in the first place. Even “deadwood” can liven up the forest, so I think fictional questions are fine as long as they’re entertaining. That said, I generally ignore questions that feel like jokes but aren’t funny. Why not start by saying, “This is a fictional question” or “In my imagination…”? One of the two is definitely a lie, and depending on the situation, both may be lies. People who answer questions about not receiving offers are trying to be genuinely helpful, so please don’t waste that goodwill with lies. There’s a reply function? LOL, that’s hilarious. They change the question to mean almost the exact opposite, then get angry about it? LOL. Hiding behind anonymity really makes you question their online literacy. There are a lot of weird people like the person asking this question, so it’s possible to identify them. That’s a standard precaution in an online society. Otherwise, things would get completely out of hand. We answerers are volunteers, after all, so it’s a hassle having to deal with every ridiculous response.

It’s also difficult when people assume that anonymity means anything goes. Please refrain from asking questions that lack credibility or could be misleading. I may not be an expert respondent, but I always try to answer sincerely, so such questions leave me feeling uncomfortable. I would appreciate it if you could be more mindful in the future.

If you could provide your member ID, I’d be able to give you more specific advice. When making an inquiry, we sometimes also ask how many favorites you have. If you have as many as 50, I’d think you’ll likely receive a few offers if you wait a little longer.
