If it were me, rather than asking outright, “What about the allowance?” I’d naturally steer the conversation forward on the assumption that there would be one.
For example:
“Wow ☺️ I’d absolutely love to hear your beautiful singing voice. It feels so luxurious to be able to listen to you sing in a private room. I’d feel a little awkward receiving an allowance just for that, though… but if that’s what you have in mind, I’d be very happy ☺️”
Something along those lines.
This gently conveys that I’m taking the meeting with an allowance in mind, while also making it easy for him to say, “Of course—that’s what I intended.” I think it comes across more smoothly than asking about the terms directly.
In this world, being too direct can take away some of the charm, but being too vague can lead to misunderstandings. I think communicating things a little more softly is just about right.
[Edit]
Mr. Makeo,
Thank you ☺️
Calling me a genius is far too kind, but this kind of wording is something I’ve developed through plenty of trial and error.
I’m very happy you feel that way.

To give you a serious answer: sometimes you have to take the long way around, and accepting a short-term loss can lead to a greater gain.
Thinking about the future, it would probably be best to continue seeing him even without an allowance.
Since you’re asking a question like this, I wonder if you’ve never had a regular job—but relationships that may seem pointless at first glance can sometimes lead to work opportunities.

“How about, ‘I prefer the microphone in your impressive crotch to a karaoke mic’?
This is basically a comedy prompt, lol.

This doesn’t exactly answer your question, but if it were me, I’d make the karaoke offer including the allowance, something like: “I can only offer you @@, but would you come to karaoke with me?”
Personally, I actually prefer when someone asks directly, “I’m looking forward to karaoke, but what about the allowance?” It seems like the difference comes down to everyone’s individual stance on this.

As someone who sings at an unbelievably terrible level, I’m honestly jealous that you can sing for someone else.
Why not ask about the schedule, like, “Are we going to karaoke and then having an adult relationship (intimate) that day?”
If he says in advance that you’ll just go to karaoke and then part ways, that’s different from how you usually meet, so you could ask something like, “I just wanted to confirm—what about the allowance?” before meeting him.
Hope this helps.

Unless this is what the woman wants, the man in question sounds extremely headstrong. He’s probably used to women complaining to him, so I think it’s fine to ask him directly about the money.
Since he communicates almost entirely one-sidedly and seems to disregard the other person’s feelings, he’s probably used to being dumped as well. You could be pretty firm with him.
That said, if you trust him, I think it would be best to go meet him without saying anything.
But if this is something he wants, that doesn’t seem very likely.

Everyone seems to be pretty careful about this.
Try casually saying it without putting it in writing:
“If it’s karaoke only, how much should I get for transportation?”
Say it with a cute smile, haha.
As Mr. Maezawa suggested, maybe something along the lines of, “I’ll listen to you at a love hotel karaoke place.”
But if you’re considering continuing the arrangement, I feel it’ll be easier later if you build a relationship where you can say things like that.
One thing to note: if you don’t say anything the first time, it may become the default. So if you want an allowance, I think it’s better to mention it.

Some love hotels have karaoke facilities. Why not suggest going to one of those first?
The downside is that it may make your hotel stay longer, but I think that’s better than going on a karaoke-only date and not receiving any allowance.
That said, some places may have outdated karaoke equipment, so you’ll probably need to choose a hotel that specifically says something like “karaoke available” to make sure you can use it.
Also, some hotels have karaoke equipment in only certain rooms, while in other cases it may be broken and unavailable. If you don’t check carefully, you could end up entering the room only to find that you can’t use it.
> As for checking that beforehand
If you’ve met the person four or more times, I feel like you could just say it directly. But there is still the worry that you never know what might become a dealbreaker for them.
A lot depends on the person. Some men won’t mind if you bring it up, while others may end things over it. So I think it may be best to go as planned, see how much allowance you receive, and if you don’t get any, just consider it a freebie for that day.
(Then decline from the next time onward.)
