Lately, I’ve been busy with my personal life and haven’t had much time for papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan). Since it’s been difficult to coordinate schedules with the people I’m meeting next, I may end up seeing two people back-to-back in one day.

If you were with the first person without a condom, I feel like the second person would notice it with a probability close to 100%. Usually, I think they notice because of the subtle smell down there, so if you can take care of that, it’s less likely they’ll find out. Some men, like Kazu, have incredibly sharp senses and can tell whether you’ve been with someone within the past day or two even if you used a condom, so I think it also depends on how perceptive the man is. So, after seeing the first person, it seems best to wash down there extremely thoroughly. (Though apparently washing too much isn’t good for you.) Also, if you search online, you’ll find that vaginal tablets prescribed by a doctor generally improve the smell dramatically. I do wonder whether the next person might notice if you use one and see them immediately afterward, but it still seems to get rid of even the faint smell of the previous person. Occasionally, I think a man’s scent can remain on areas other than down there as well, so you shouldn’t let your guard down—you really need to wash your entire body properly. You might smell like soap afterward, but I feel like that would be easy enough to explain.

Some men say they can’t tell, but personally, I can. Intuitively, if a condom was used, I can tell up to a day or two afterward; if it was ejaculation inside, I can tell up to three or four days later. Thorough vaginal cleansing can make it harder to notice. If there was withdrawal without a condom, or a polyurethane condom was used, you might not be able to tell by the smell. However, if it happened just a few hours earlier, I think you can tell from how relaxed the vagina is.

If the first guy is well-endowed, the second guy might mistakenly assume she’s loose.

It’s not a problem because they won’t find out. I wouldn’t say seeing multiple people is the norm, but it does happen occasionally among PGs.
