Maezawa here.
If we come up with a good alternative, it’s certainly possible that we could introduce a new way of assigning classes. But for now, I don’t think any better ideas have emerged, so it will probably remain the same until one does.
Of course, there have been some novel suggestions, such as letting the women decide for themselves, but I’m not sure that idea is appealing enough to adopt.
In the end, it depends on the interviewer. But I think it’s the same with auditions and such—until we can quantify a person’s appeal, this is probably the system we’ll have to use.
I’m sorry that luck inevitably plays a part, but luck is part of ability too…
That said, which class would you have preferred? If you’re really that disappointed, should I quietly move you—just you—to your preferred class as a special favor?
Although, I’m not sure changing classes would really offer that many benefits.
I’ll probably get seriously scolded later, though. (Haha.)
(I’ll be the one getting scolded, so the questioner won’t be.)
