Kida here.
Do the staff also secretly rate male members?
→ It’s not really a secret—we rate them as a matter of course.
After each date, we ask both members to complete a post-date survey. There are five questions, each rated with stars:
Appearance ★☆☆☆☆
Date quality ★★☆☆☆
Personality ★★★☆☆
Manners ★☆☆☆☆
Overall ★★☆☆☆
Something like that.
In this example, the member would receive 9 out of 25 points. The average score is displayed clearly next to each member’s name:
Satoshi Kida — 19.5 points
And do you tell the female member who received the offer about it?
→ We absolutely never disclose the actual score.
However, if there are any points she should be aware of, we do let her know. For example:
“He dislikes lateness, so please let us know in advance if you have another appointment beforehand.”
“He has a shaved head, so he may look intimidating at first glance, but he’s actually a very kind person.”
Depending on the situation, we may mention it beforehand if there’s a potential issue, but there should hardly ever be anything serious.
The scoring system is currently still in the data-collection stage for verification purposes, so for now, the scores do not affect the men’s evaluations.
Looking at the score distribution, we’ve learned that “there are no members who receive uniformly positive or uniformly negative evaluations from everyone,” and that “personality scores are roughly equivalent to overall scores, while appearance ratings have little correlation with overall ratings.”
