If that theory is definitely correct, then it would be strange for someone like me, in my late 40s, and Nana to have multiple papas who make offers and meet with us regularly.

I think most people are looking for someone young and attractive.
Those who prefer women their own age or older probably appreciate their personality, mannerisms, and so on—not just their looks.

In my case, that’s spot-on!
There’s a more-than-40-year age gap between me and the woman I was introduced to…
When we first met, I was the one who was really surprised!
We’ve been seeing each other for five years now, and she’s practically like a daughter to me(笑).

In my case, the person I’ve been seeing the longest is in his late 30s to early 40s, so I’m not sure you can make a blanket statement like that.
With him, we probably don’t look like parent and child, so maybe that helps us talk as equals.

With papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), the age gap is usually pretty large—the girl is often around 30 years younger than the papa (a male supporter).
With “older-brother dating,” the age gap is a little smaller.
With “friend dating,” the ages are probably closer to the same.
That said, it really depends on the person.
