Hiring based on looks is definitely a thing.
There’s the example of Seattle-san, but plenty of companies do this on a much larger scale too. If the staff featured on a company’s website are all attractive in the same sort of way, there’s a good chance that’s what’s going on. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the president—if someone higher up, like an executive vice president or managing director, has that particular preference, the result is the same. So don’t fixate on the president. Once you’ve identified a likely company, you might improve your chances by going to the interview with your makeup and clothing styled somewhat like those of the female staff.
Some companies strategically hire attractive women for clerical or assistant positions because their sales grow when young salesmen are out there working hard. Young men want to impress attractive women, after all. On a hot day like today, when they come back exhausted from making their rounds and a beautiful woman making barley tea says, “Welcome back!” it would give them a boost, wouldn’t it? You can find potential candidates by searching by industry, such as real estate sales or securities firms.
Conversely, there are also companies whose sales improve when attractive women visit clients. Industries with a high proportion of older male clients, I suppose—advertising and insurance, for example. Some companies also require ability, so a relatively old-established company that earns money through its systems rather than through the salespeople’s individual skills and ingenuity, and only expects them to maintain contact with clients, would probably be a perfect fit.
In either case, you don’t have to be smart, but you do need to have a good personality. That may be true in any field. Still, even if your personality isn’t great, it can be changed, so work on that.

If you’re aiming for an office job, try to interview at the smallest companies you can find—especially ones run by a single president who looks like a lecherous guy like me.
Wear a skirt that’s a little on the short side and show just the slightest hint of cleavage, as long as it doesn’t look unnatural.
