My papa (a male supporter) seems to have gotten really into cashless payments lately and sends my allowance through PayPay or LINE Pay. I can’t spend tens of thousands of yen at convenience stores, and although I can transfer the money to my bank account to cash it out, I’m charged a fee every time, so I wish he’d stop. Even when I ask him to pay me in cash, he won’t. Should I end things with him?

Tomooka from the Umeda branch here. If you feel that you can’t accept the situation and want to end things, then I think it’s okay to break up. That said, if you ultimately feel that ending the relationship would be a waste, you should be more open about your own feelings and look for a way to improve things together.

If that’s all it is, maybe you could look at putting up with it as part of growing up. It’s good practice in self-discipline, haha. Regardless of allowance-based dating, I don’t think there’s any relationship where everything is completely satisfying. Meeting each other halfway is really important. If the relationship itself is fine and he pays your allowance, maybe it’s worth putting up with, don’t you think?

You’re considering breaking things off over something that minor? There are probably plenty of other women who would be happy to date that papa, so by all means, end things with him.
