I’m planning to go to Universe for an interview soon. Since it seems like a good opportunity, I’d also like to buy some new clothes. Ladies, where do you usually shop for clothes? I’d appreciate it if you could also share your favorite brands and what kind of outfits you typically buy.

The best choice is probably an outfit that suits you. Among us papas’ generation, I think classic, refined styles—like the polished look of a TV announcer—tend to be popular. If you’re in your 20s, have a naturally understated look, and prefer natural makeup, I’d recommend GRL (Grail). It’s affordable and cute, with a wide variety of items available online. I’d feel a little put off if someone were dressed head-to-toe in high-end brands, but personally, I think GRL outfits are really cute. From Fuu, who loves dresses.

Rather than focusing on where to shop, I think you should choose based on what suits you and what makes you look attractive. A few years ago, I had my personal color, facial features, and body type analyzed, and practiced figuring out which items suited me. Since then, even inexpensive clothes from GRL, Uniqlo, or ZARA have looked polished on me. (That said, if you don’t have much time, it’s probably safest to avoid wearing all black or an outfit that obviously displays high-end designer brands, especially with photos in mind.)

The clothes women in their 20s wear are fundamentally different from what we wear. So you can’t shop at the same stores. If you’re in your 20s, I’d suggest something from a brand like Snidel, with a slightly shorter skirt and a soft, feminine feel. Of course, gothic lolita styles are a no-go. Aim for a style that wouldn’t look out of place entering a luxury hotel. Beyond that, choose clothes that suit you.

What kinds of clothes did you usually buy, and where did you buy them, when going on dates before? The same kind of outfit should be fine. If you chose it thinking, “I’m wearing this for a date with someone I like,” then it’s perfectly fine even if it’s from Uniqlo or GU. That said, one thing to keep in mind is that if you usually go on dates wearing jeans, for example, you were probably dating men who liked that style. However, many men prefer skirts, including dresses. Once they’ve gotten to know you, many men are fine with pants too—but that’s because they’ve come to know your personality. If your goal is to receive offers from men who are only looking at your photos or videos and know nothing else about you, I think it’s better to wear something skirt-based.
