Men on the site’s salon seem to be looking for girlfriends and offering lower allowances. What do you think?

Even if the initial allowance is only 20,000 yen, once you make the papa fall for you, the allowance can steadily increase. Try seeing him for about three months first. At first, I turned down quite a few men because I was concerned about the initial allowance, too. But now I find that helping them grow into generous supporters can be enjoyable in its own way. Since you were accepted into the salon, I’m sure you can do it as well. Take your time and do your best.

Women tend to focus on how much they’ll get per meeting, but I wouldn’t really recommend setting a per-meeting amount. What matters is whether the man will continue supporting you. Think about the difference between seeing the same person for three years and doing one-off arrangements for three years. New offers probably won’t come in on a regular basis. I’m not a salon member, but I’ve been seeing one woman for five years. When we first met, she was very demanding, and I remember thinking, “Seriously?” But now, after five years, she doesn’t even mention the amount of support anymore(笑) I think she’s come to understand how allowance-based relationships work. Well, that’s just how it goes.

All I can tell is that you seem to have that tendency. And the fact that you’re asking a question like this makes me wonder if you haven’t had many encounters that truly satisfied you…

I imagine club owners and staff try to understand overall trends among their members and use that information to shape their operating policies. Likewise, I can understand affiliates and scouts learning each club’s characteristics and tendencies so they can recommend the right club to people who come to them for advice. However, from the perspective of a member—the person actually participating—I don’t think overall trends are very useful. Most members only meet a tiny fraction of the club’s membership, so what matters is not what the membership as a whole is like, but what the person in front of you is like. Since female members of dating clubs are the ones men approach for dates, I think the preferences and behavior of the men who approach them are influenced by what those women are like. For example, if you feel that “a lot of men are looking for girlfriends,” isn’t it more likely that this is because the men look at you and think you seem like someone who could become their girlfriend? This is especially true with salons. Unlike Universe Club, where men choose women after viewing their profiles, salon staff presumably select which woman to introduce based on who they think a particular man would like. In other words, if you feel that “the men at salons are more interested in finding girlfriends and seem to offer lower allowances,” there’s a good chance the salon staff see you as someone who would appeal to men looking for a girlfriend. Ultimately, when a dating club member says, “There are a lot of people like this at ○○,” that is simply a tendency among the people that individual has happened to meet. I don’t think it’s productive to casually assume you know what the men at a particular club are like and use that as an easy way out. I believe the overall tendencies of a dating club are useful to members only when forming hypotheses based on how the system works—for example, estimating how much men are willing to spend on dating based on the setting fee, or considering that people concerned about being identified may be registered at a salon because profile photos are not made public.
