You didn’t give that papa a gift because you genuinely liked him, right? He saw through you. If you’d given it because you liked him—or simply to show your appreciation—you wouldn’t have expected anything in return.

I only received something during the first year too, but now, six years later, I don’t get anything at all lol.
Actually, I got really into baking around Valentine’s Day this year, so when I see my papa on March 14, I’m planning to bring him a homemade soufflé cheesecake at his request.
I don’t get anything in particular from my other papa either, but I don’t mind. If you’re already receiving plenty on a regular basis, I think it’s better not to expect any extras—you’ll be genuinely thrilled when an occasional surprise does happen, so it feels like a bonus.
It’s best to look at it positively.

I ended up getting a perfectly normal return gift from my papa. I wasn’t expecting anything, so I was really happy. Having this mindset makes you feel happier, so I recommend it.
