To sum it up:

I’m sorry to shatter your dreams, but being fawned over by older men is pretty normal when you’re in your twenties—especially if you’re in an environment where there are a lot of older men around.
Everyone in my workplace group is an older man, and I’ve also been treated kindly by older men from other groups I work with, suppliers, customers, and men at companies I was previously assigned to.
Being treated well makes work easier, and I’m sometimes able to ask them for favors that are a bit of a stretch, so I really appreciate it.
According to these men, all young women are cute. That’s why they want to dote on them. It’s not about their looks; they’re cute simply because they’re young.
It’s basically the same feeling we have when we see a small animal and think, “Aww, so cute.”
On the other hand, men around the same age don’t see you as someone they want to dote on. They may see you as a female friend, a woman, or someone they’d want as a girlfriend, but they don’t automatically consider youth itself cute. Unless you have a kind of cuteness that genuinely attracts them, they won’t fawn over you.
So no matter what you look like, if you’re young, you’ll be treated as cute. If you think, “I must be attractive because older men fawn over me,” you may end up regretting it when you get older and thinking, “I should have done more while I could.”
That’s the reality. This is based on both what I’ve heard from others and my own experience.
